Medkit

Anti-inflammatory treatment.

Medkit is an anti-inflammatory treatment item in Animal Hospital (Anomaly) used for Bruises during normal diagnosis, and it's also one of the standard treatments that can come up during Room 8 surgery. Room 8's surgery mini-game mixes five exclusive items — Antibiotics, Scalpel, Scissors, Transplant, and Organ — with standard ones like Medkit, Bandages, IV Drops, and Medicine, so don't assume every surgery call is for a surgery-only item. Like most of the base medicine roster, Medkit has no standalone wiki page and isn't sold in the Supplies Shop — you obtain it through normal patient diagnosis.

Medkit is a treatment medicine, not a purchasable item — it's given to patients during diagnosis. See the full symptom-to-medicine table for how it fits alongside every other treatment.

Tips & Strategy

  • Expect Medkit to come up both in regular room diagnosis (for Bruises) and during Room 8 surgery.
  • It's not purchasable — it's a diagnosis-only item.
  • Room 8's surgery mini-game only starts its 45-second timer after the first IV Drops is given, then asks for one item per turn across four turns before a fifth turn that needs three items at once — Medkit can be called for on any of those turns.
  • Medkit shares its 'anti-inflammatory' treatment category with Thermo (used for Fever), so the two are grouped together even though they treat different symptoms.
  • Completing a Room 8 surgery successfully restores +1% sanity, so handling a Medkit call correctly there has a small sanity payoff beyond just saving the patient.
  • Players can carry 3 treatments at once by default (more with carry-capacity upgrades or certain classes), so it's worth keeping Medkit stocked alongside whatever else a shift is throwing at you.

Bruises during normal diagnosis, and it's also called for as one of the standard items during Room 8 surgery.
Is Medkit available in the Supplies Shop?
No, it comes from patient diagnosis only.

Does treating a Medkit call reward anything extra?
Completing the Room 8 surgery mini-game overall restores +1% sanity, though that's tied to finishing the surgery as a whole, not to Medkit specifically.
