Dr. Harlow is the player's supervisor in Animal Hospital (Anomaly) and the game's main tutorial character. He appears at the end of each of the first six shifts to explain new mechanics and unlock new areas — shutters and cameras after Shift 1, the Supplies Shop and Emergency Wing after Shift 2, and the Taser after Shift 3 — while also grading the player's performance each time. After Shift 7 he stops initiating conversation but stays in the lobby, where players can approach him for additional lore dialogue.
